Bridges: The Actors’ Agency came about when a group of professional actors decided to pool their skills and resources to create a co-operative, based in Edinburgh. Bridges was set up in 2008 and is the only active co-operative of its kind in Scotland.
With the help of Cooperative Development Scotland and the Business Gateway, the founders decided to explore a business model whereby they collaborate and share resources.
Bridges members work from a busy office in Out of the Blue: Drill Hall, one of Edinburgh’s key cultural hubs. As a co-operative acting agency, all members work in the office to represent and support their fellow actors when not acting.
